About Us — The Team Behind Xbox Gamertag Finder

About us: Xbox Gamertag Finder is developed and maintained by MadeByWeb — free, fast tools for Xbox players, with no sign-in and no clutter.

About Us: What We Do

Xbox Gamertag Finder started with a single goal — a quick way to look up a public Xbox Live profile without opening the Xbox app or signing in. It has since grown into a full toolkit: a gamertag availability checker, a Gamerscore finder, a gamertag generator, and more — all built around the same principle. Type something in, get a real answer back, instantly.

Our lookup tools fetch public data from Xbox Live when you search, and we never invent numbers. To keep leaderboards, statistics and history charts working, we also save the public details of profiles that have been searched (such as gamertag, Gamerscore, avatar and online status), and some of them are shown on public profile pages and lists. You can ask us to remove a profile at any time through our Contact Us page.

About us in one sentence: we're a small team obsessed with making one specific task — finding an Xbox gamertag — as fast and frictionless as possible.

Who We Are

MadeByWeb builds focused web tools for gaming communities, with an emphasis on speed, accuracy, and no unnecessary friction. Xbox Gamertag Finder is one of several projects developed under the MadeByWeb name, built and maintained with the same standard across every tool: fast, reliable, and free to use.

Jill R Warren

Author & Editor, Xbox Gamertag Finder

Jill writes and maintains the guides on this site, from how to find a gamertag to how Xbox features and changes work. She keeps articles up to date as Xbox changes things, and she is the byline you will see on every guide in our Blog.

We actively monitor and maintain every tool on this site. If something breaks, looks wrong, or could work better, it gets addressed directly and quickly — you can always contact us if you spot an issue.

We also keep a close eye on official Xbox updates and outages through Xbox Wire, since a lot of what our tools show depends on Xbox Live being reachable and stable.

Why It's Free

🔓

No sign-in, ever

Every tool works instantly — no account, no email, no login wall.

🎯

Built for one job

Each tool does one thing well instead of trying to be a full Xbox dashboard.

📡

Real data only

Results come from public Xbox Live data fetched when you search — no placeholders, no invented stats.

Our Standards

We hold every tool on this site to the same three rules before it ever goes live:

No fabricated statistics, fake "recently searched" data, or invented numbers
No login walls or unnecessary data collection — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what we do collect
Lookup results are fetched from Xbox Live when you search (and may be cached briefly); saved copies are only used for leaderboards, statistics, history and public profile pages

These standards are also why we're upfront that Xbox Gamertag Finder is an independent project, not an official Microsoft product — see our Disclaimer and Terms and Conditions for the full details.

Our Journey So Far

Xbox Gamertag Finder began as a single, simple lookup box. As more players asked for related features, the toolkit grew: an Availability Checker for confirming a name is free before you claim it, an Online Status Finder for checking if someone is currently active, a Gamertag Generator for name ideas, and a Gamerscore Finder for a quick score lookup.

Each addition followed the same about us philosophy that started this project — solve one real problem cleanly, without adding sign-ups, ads that get in the way, or bloated dashboards nobody asked for.
